Northwest Survival & Disaster Alliance 

 

 

NSDA was developed out of a need for a regional organization to create a network of people, from all over the northwest that are available for spreading information and assistance during time of crisis. Regardless of the nature of the disaster, Natural, Man Made or an act of God, we will do anything we can, as long as we can, to aide each other.  

Should the internet go down, the lines of communication would stop, so it is important to keep in touch as much and as long as possible. Some of this alliance will be moving into the ham radio area in an attempt to keep the lines of communication open. 

 

We have a Yahoo Group for this rather than an online forum due to the nature of what we do. As stated, once the net goes down, so does the communication, but with the mail being sent to your inbox, rather than being stored online somewhere, important information may be kept in each of the computers that are part of this alliance. So, delete with care. As a bonus, Yahoo will have these records also. 

 

The headquarters for NSDA are located in Beautiful Central Idaho.  

Although there are members from Idaho, Washington and Oregon Already.  

 

As a part of being prepared we also discuss a wide variety of things that some may not think are related. A garden is vital. Electricity is a part of life. Some of us plan to go off grid. Small private saw mills and woodlots may be part of a future trade route if things were to fall completely apart. Self protection, Vehicles are all subjects for discussion. Join with us in a truly regional discussion. It will help you. You can help us. This forum will also help to create local groups throughout the northwest. As the group grows. People will learn about each other and form these local groups, thus allowing for meeting, training etc, outside of the goals of this regional one.
