Established in 1999 and officially formed in 2004, we raise rabbits, Llamas and will raise cattle also. We have a 120 acre ranch near Grangeville Idaho. Also will spend a lot of time in alternate building methods. This Blog is designed for the purpose of documenting that venue.

Sticker Shock

Boy, last time I bought emt tubing, it was like 2 bucks for 3/4 inch. Today at Home Depot, it was 2.97 for 1/2 inch. I really wanted 3/4, but that they didn't even seem to have. The sign said they always had 300 of the 1/2 inch, but there was like 10 pieces there, so I came home empty. 150 miles round trip for nothing.
I will start looking around here. I bet I can scrounge. I know I have 30 or 40 5 foot pieces from some old rabbit cages that I used for legs.

New Blog up and running

Hi,
This is my first blog. I will try not to bore you. I am very excited about the possibilities that exist in building with alternative materials. My ranch is located in an area that has no existing building codes or permit requirements, other than state mandated sewer and electric permits.
Since I intead to use non standard those are not needed either.
I plan on building with wood, rock, hay bales, mud, cement. You name it, I hope to eventually have a building with it. Perhaps not for living in, but I need buildings for feed, animals, shade, dancing floors, and the like.
I am planning on a conduit dome for the front yard here at our other home. It will serve as a shady area for my wife while she is gardening and a BBQ area for us on hot summer days.
